Welcome to Smedley Elementary, serving students in kindergarten through sixth grade in the Frankford community of North Philadelphia.

Smedley Elementary offers academic excellence in a joyful environment. From math and music to reading and field trips,  students receive a rigorous and well-rounded education from highly-qualified and passionate teachers and leaders.

Smedley Elementary students have the opportunity to automatically attend our Lenfest Campus, giving them the full K-12 Mastery experience.

Academic instruction includes small-group sessions that allow teachers to create a personalized learning experience for each student as they explore the concepts of language arts, math, science, and social studies. Students also receive instruction in art, physical education, music, and more as part of our commitment to educating the whole child.

Smedley Elementary serves students in the Frankford area who live in the school’s attendance zone within the 19124 zip code.  

The school cannot enroll students living outside of its catchment zone, even if they reside within the listed 19124 zip code. Some limited seats may be available for student outside of the catchment, otherwise they will be added to our waitlist.

Back to School 2024

All students are be required to wear our full uniform daily. 

  • Navy polo shirt with Mastery logo
  • Navy bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, dresses)
  • Sweaters and sweatshirts (crew neck only, no hooded sweatshirts) can be navy, black, white, grey, or blue. If they are pull over they should have the Mastery logo.
  • All Islamic attire (overgarments, thobes, zars, kimars, kufis) must be navy blue, gray, white or black.
  • Students can wear any socks or tights and any color shoes. Shoes must be closed toe.

Purchasing Uniforms: You are welcome to purchase uniforms anywhere. We sell polos at Smedley and currently have all short sleeved sizes in stock. They are $10 per shirt or 5 for $40. You can purchase them at the Main Office any day 9:00-2:30pm. You can also request our logo file at the Main Office if you’d like to make your own shirts.
