Learn about the kindergarten program at Mastery Charter Schools

Academic success begins in kindergarten

As a kindergartner at Mastery Schools, your child will begin their journey to achieving academic success. Our loving teachers nurture the greatness within each child and provide the personalized attention students need to thrive. They also ensure that students have fun. You can feel the joy in our classrooms and see the excitement on our student’s faces as they learn new skills and build meaningful friendships.

Mastery kindergartners embark on a broad learning journey each day—practicing reading skills, exploring science and math concepts, and developing life skills such as active listening, cooperation, problem-solving, and more.

Highlights of the kindergarten experience include:

    • Engaging morning meetings energize students and get them ready to learn
    • More than two hours of reading instruction and over 90 minutes of math and science instruction each day
    • Field trips, recess, art, music, PE, and other enrichment activities support student growth
    • Play in K, a program to help students learn social-emotional skills like self-awareness, empathy, and conflict resolution, is offered in all Mastery elementary schools

“I’ve never seen a school that puts so much into making sure that the students are on the right track. When I drop my boys off in the morning, I know they’re in good hands.”
