Athletics at Mastery Schools develops student-athletes who excel in academics and sports while embodying the Mastery mentality – a mindset rooted in character, sportsmanship, and resilience. With high expectations and a focus on growth, we empower students to lead with integrity, face challenges, and apply lessons from athletics to all areas of life.

Student-Athlete Expectations
Academic Commitment: I WILL prioritize academics, meet all eligibility requirements, and communicate with teachers and coaches about academic responsibilities.
Health & Safety: I WILL follow safety protocols, report injuries, avoid alcohol, drugs, and banned substances, and maintain overall wellness through proper nutrition, rest, and hydration.
Sportsmanship & Character: I WILL show respect to teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators, and compete with honesty, fairness, and humility—learning from both wins and losses.
Respect & Representation: I WILL represent Mastery positively at all times, and avoid conduct that discredits the team, school, or program.
Responsibility & Discipline: I WILL attend all practices, games, and meetings on time and prepared, follow team rules and school policies, and uphold high standards of behavior and decision-making.
Social Media Responsibility: I WILL use social media thoughtfully. Posts should reflect Mastery’s values and demonstrate respect for others. Inappropriate or harmful content may lead to disciplinary action.
Commitment to the Team: I WILL support and uplift teammates, give full effort, and embrace a team-first mentality, be coachable, and help create an inclusive, positive team culture.
All student-athletes, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to always show good sportsmanship. Inappropriate behavior, such as taunting, arguing with officials, foul language, or physical altercations, will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or removal from games, practices, or events.
Any spectator who attends a Mastery middle school or high school athletic event at any Mastery or non-Mastery facility will be expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
- All spectators must comply with security checks in place at athletic events (when applicable).
- All elementary-aged students and children (K-8) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Only Mastery school students supporting the home or visiting teams will be permitted entry into the game without an adult spectator. Students must present their student ID and ticket on site.
- Parents, guardians, and other adult spectators will be permitted to purchase a ticket at the entrance and/or in advance. Entry will not be allowed to ticketed games without a purchased ticket, regardless of the amount of time remaining in the game.
- Once spectators leave the building/field, they will not be permitted to re-enter.
- Any suspicious individuals or activities should be reported to the Mastery staff and school security officers immediately. We remind our community that if you “see something – say something.”
- Mastery Schools reserves the right to deny entry and/or remove anyone from the athletic events for failure to comply with the Mastery/SDP spectator expectations.
- Fans must be seated in the stands or bleachers for sporting events. Loitering during sporting events is not allowed.
- Guests are prohibited from bringing in items larger than a wallet or small purse (large bags, duffels, balls, boxes, etc. will not be permitted).
- Individual schools may have additional guidelines based on facility layout and capacity.
