In Camden, Hammers, Saws, Union Pay in Mastery Students’ Future

CAMDEN – Five soon-to-be graduates at Mastery High School will spend their next four years studying with an institution whose Latin motto is “Labor Omnia Vincit.”

The motto, translated as “work conquers all” is not from an Ivy League university, or in this case any college at all.

It is at the heart of the symbol for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, the union where they will study tuition-free for four years as apprentices and earn pay that will reach $53 an hour with full benefits after their apprenticeships.
