Diving Deep: Mastery alum launches organization to fight racial inequities in swimming

Mastery Lenfest Campus alum Amani Khabeer is making waves fighting the record-high number of child drownings in Louisiana. Her success in swimming, which began in middle school and continued at Lenfest, led her to become the first Black swimmer and first Black swim captain on the Mansfield University swim team – an accomplishment she does not take lightly.

Now, Amani is on a mission to help people overcome their fear of water and learn how to swim through her organization Brown Girls Swim.

Watch Amani’s interview below to learn more about her outstanding work.
