Maurice Towns - Mastery Schools

Maurice Towns is the proud principal of Mastery High School of Camden, bringing a deep commitment to the city where he was raised and continues to invest. With strong personal ties to the Camden community, Principal Towns is passionate about ensuring that students in his hometown have access to high-quality education and meaningful opportunities for success.

Before transitioning into school leadership, he began his career in education as a math teacher at Mastery Molina Upper School. There, he earned a reputation for instructional excellence, building strong relationships with students, and fostering a culture of academic achievement. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia and a master’s in education from the Relay Graduate School for Education.

Today, Principal Towns leads with a focus on equity, high expectations, and student-centered learning. He is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and rigorous academic environment where all students can thrive, and to working in partnership with families, staff, and the broader Camden community to prepare every student for college, career, and life.
