Kate McNulty serves as the proud principal of Gratz Prep Middle. Before joining the school’s leadership team, McNulty spent three years at the Mastery Schools’ central office as the Senior Director of School Culture.

With more than a decade of experience in education, she has served in various roles, including teacher, school leader, and network leader. She began her teaching career with the School District of Philadelphia teaching middle school math before joining the team at Simon Gratz High, where she taught social-emotional learning (SEL) and taught pre-algebra.

Her goals include continuing to expand the rich academic and extracurricular culture at Gratz Prep Middle to create opportunities for students to thrive inside and outside of the school community.

Principal McNulty earned her bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from Thomas Jefferson University and her master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
