John Davidson - Mastery Schools

John Davidson is the proud principal of Lenfest Campus. Before joining Mastery Schools, Principal Davidson served as a teacher and clinical manager of specialized services and school supports with the School District of Philadelphia. He also worked as a counselor, vocational coach, and behavioral interventionist for various organizations throughout Pennsylvania, including Devereux Behavior Health and The Davidson School. Throughout his more than 15 years as an educator, he has shown a deep commitment to student and staff development.

Principal Davidson’s journey with Lenfest Campus began in 2010 as dean of students, and he later moved on to serve as the campus’s assistant principal of school culture. He has also been instrumental in guiding the Mastery North Football Team, serving as a longtime coach. His dedication to student success and leadership earned him a place in the highly selective Mastery Principal Fellowship, where he received training and mentorship in preparation for a leadership role as a school principal.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from Springfield College, and he is currently pursuing a second master’s degree from Arcadia University. In addition to his academic achievements, Principal Davidson is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).

When he is not leading or planning, you will likely find him involved with football, which he considers a lifelong passion that has shaped who he is and provided him another avenue to mentor Mastery students.
