Erica Smith is the proud principal of John Wister Elementary. She is an active and passionate school leader who believes that every child can achieve their goals and dreams with the support of a great school.
Before being appointed as Wister’s principal, Principal Smith served as the Assistant Principal of Specialized Services at the same campus. Prior to that, she held various educational positions in New York City, including as a science teacher and a principal. Additionally, she worked as a special education lead case manager at Mastery’s Shoemaker Campus in West Philadelphia.
Principal Smith holds a master’s degree in special education and chemistry education from Manhattanville College and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Trinity College. She also completed the school leadership program and obtained her principal’s certification from the University of Pennsylvania. Principal Smith has developed a deep love for the Wister community and takes pride in partnering with families and staff to ensure that students learn and thrive every day.
