Dr. Ayo Akinmoladun - Mastery Schools

Dr. Ayo Akinmoladun is the proud principal of Harrity Elementary. Before joining Mastery, he served as a teacher, assistant principal, and dean of instruction for a network of charter schools in Memphis. Throughout his 10 years as an educator, he has been recognized for his student achievement outcomes, receiving the Transformational Impact Award from Teach For America and being named a Top 20 Under 30 Educator.  

In his first year as principal, Dr. Akinmoladun helped the Harrity Elementary team achieve historic conditional growth in both MAP math and reading. He has also been selected for the National Leadership Institute for men of color in educational leadership.

Dr. Akinmoladun holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a doctorate in entrepreneurial leadership from Johns Hopkins. He grew up in Kansas City and is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He enjoys cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Lakers. Additionally, he enjoys traveling, nature walks, and running.
