Brian McLaughlin has been an educator for two decades and serves as a Regional Schools Officer for Mastery Schools, managing schools across Philadelphia and Camden since 2015. McLaughlin began his career at Mastery in 2007 and has supported Mastery’s rapid expansion across the region, including the opening of several turnaround schools. Prior to that, McLaughlin was the founding principal of Mastery Smedley Elementary — one of Mastery’s first elementary schools — and he has served as an assistant principal and teacher in the network. McLaughlin got his start as a Teach For America corps member, has a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, and is the proud father of three daughters.
