Update: In-Person Isolation & Quarantine Policy
Message from Scott Gordon

Families,
We’re officially on the countdown to re-opening our doors and having students back in the classroom. In preparation for the return to in-person instruction, we want to provide health and safety updates regarding our new quarantine and isolation guidelines.
- Isolation and Quarantines Updated to 5 days
Starting immediately, we will implement recommendations from the CDC and CHOP to transition to 5-day quarantine and isolation periods.
What does a 5-day quarantine & isolation mean?
- If a student tests positive or has symptoms and is presumed positive:
- The student, regardless of vaccination status, can return to school after 5 days of isolation if they are asymptomatic.
Students returning on days 6 through 10 will be required to take a rapid test upon their return, which must produce a negative result. The rapid testing serves as an extra layer of protection—and is one that most other school districts are unable to execute—we can because we were able to proactively secure 6,000 rapid tests!
Those returning from isolation after 10 days do not need to take a rapid test as they have completed the full 10-day isolation.
- If a student has a close contact exposure with someone who tested positive or is presumed positive:
- Students who are in close contact will quarantine for 5 days
As we shared yesterday, we’re requesting all students wear a well-fitting mask. The CDC recommends high quality masks (KN95, N95, and KF94) or doubling up cloth masks. Extra surgical masks will be available for students if your child would like to double mask.
With our weekly testing, in conjunction with the execution of our health and safety policies, we’re confident in the safety of our school facilities.
