School may have just let out, but hundreds of faculty, staff, and students who work or attend Mastery’s Molina elementary schools are already eagerly anticipating when classes resume next year.
This is because, after seven years of stakeholder meetings, planning sessions, building renovations, and construction work, the two schools will “reunite” on Aug. 21 to form Molina Elementary, a united kindergarten through eighth-grade school in what school administrators call a “beautiful state-of-the-art campus” at 601 N. Vine St.
Roughly $16 million from the schools’ operating budget reserves was used to construct new gym, a new entrance, a new play area and new classroom spaces, said Matt Troha, Mastery School’s chief operating officer.
