Mission Monday: Mastery Alum Spotlight
Back to school will take on a new meaning this year for six Mastery alums who have returned to Mastery Schools as staff.
Isaiah Fields, Brian Lac, Sallie-Shadeerah Mairena, Cecelia Thompson, Paige Williams, and Tajinea Wilson have all taken different journeys after graduating from Mastery Schools.
Cecelia, who was named valedictorian in her graduating class at Mastery Thomas Campus and went on to study criminal justice at the University of Maryland College Park, will return to the same hallways this year as a guest teacher, working collaboratively to support student success inside the classroom.
For both Brian and Tajinnea, this isn’t their first return back to Mastery Schools. The pair have continued to volunteer and work for Mastery in various roles, deepening their connection to our community.
Traveling as far as Australia, Greece, and South Africa, and exploring careers in screenwriting, psychology, African-American studies just to name a few, this set of Mastery alumni bring unique perspectives to the teaching and learning experience here at Mastery. Grounded by our core values, they have created their own pathways to success, and fortunately for us, it led them back to Mastery.
While it is true that our alumni are always a part of the Mastery family, join us as we proudly welcome these extra-special graduates back to our hallways this year.
