Mastery kicks off the 2024-2025 school year with joy and new beginnings

The start of the 2024-2025 school year was marked by excitement as Mastery welcomed students and families to its 23 campuses on August 21, 2024. On the first day, CEO Dr. Boyd had the pleasure of accompanying Nesstia Goodman and her two children, fifth grader Nayyirah Armstrong and kindergartener Nayyar Armstrong, as they began their journey at Frederick Douglass Elementary.

In Camden, the day began on a similarly high note. Principal Lynette Padin-Reyes of East Camden Middle walked fifth grader Jose Ramírez-Vargas, his parents, Jose Ramírez and Glendaliz Vargas, from their home to the school. The strong sense of community was palpable as families came together to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year.

At Pastorius-Richardson, the excitement continued with the school being featured on PHL17. Principal Ashley Anderson shared the news of the newly completed playground and basketball courts, which not only enhance the students’ school experience but also serve the local community by being accessible on weekends.

This year’s first day is especially significant as Mastery embarks on the implementation of a new five-year strategic plan. This plan aims to advance the school’s mission of equipping all students with the personal and academic skills necessary for success and the pursuit of their dreams. The shared enthusiasm among students, parents, and staff underscores a collective commitment to this vision.

As Mastery steps into this new academic year, the energy and optimism across all campuses signal a promising future. With the new strategic plan in place, the network is more prepared than ever to support students in reaching their full potential. The 2024-2025 school year is set to be one of growth, learning, and significant achievement.
