Mann Elementary celebrates campus expansion with beam signing ceremony
At Mann Elementary, the saying “Once a Mann kid, always a Mann kid” can be heard and seen throughout the halls, testifying to the school’s profound impact on the lives of Wynnfield students and their families. But now, it takes on a whole new meaning. On Monday, September 8, 2025, Mann students, staff, families, and alumni left their mark on the school’s history by signing their names on the construction beams that will be installed at the school’s new front entrance and lobby, becoming a permanent part of the school’s infrastructure.
The event celebrated a significant milestone for Mann, which serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The renovation includes an extension to the front entrance with a secure vestibule with modern doors to add an extra layer of protection at the school’s main entry point. The new entrance will include a waiting area, updated reception offices, conference rooms, and bathrooms. Additionally, a new ADA-compliant elevator has been installed, and the building’s exterior will receive a modern look with new steel metal paneling.
This project showcases Mastery’s continued commitment to student safety, inclusivity, and modernized learning environments. Mastery Schools is grateful to Blackney Hayes Architects for their architectural design, Gilbane for their partnership in construction, and Cresa for providing support to help the project come to life.
