Local financial institutions invest in Mastery students’ postsecondary success
Philadelphia Financial Scholars, a local organization that empowers students through financial literacy, launched a pilot program to prepare Pickett Campus students for postsecondary financial success in collaboration with the Citadel Credit Union.
As part of the program, students are taught a money-management fundamentals curriculum that focuses on the importance of budgeting and spending habits to support financial independence. The curriculum is being introduced as students develop their postsecondary roadmap, giving them the opportunity to build sustainable financial systems to support their dreams.
Principal Margaux Munnelly celebrated the collaboration, saying, “I hope financial literacy empowers our students to make great lifelong decisions.”
Once students complete the program, they will receive a $100 deposit to their checking account, courtesy of Citadel Credit Union, as an investment in their blossoming financial future.
