Thomas Campus celebrated graduation, marking a historic, full-circle moment for a special group within the local community. Among the Class of 2026 graduates were 24 legacy students who began their academic journeys 13 years ago as the first kindergarten class at Thomas Elementary in 2013.

Before graduation, the graduates walked back through the halls of Thomas Elementary dressed in their caps and gowns for the school’s annual legacy parade. This walk served as an emotional reminder of their past and their futures, and served as an opportunity for the graduates to deliver personal letters of gratitude to influential elementary staff members who shaped their early academic years. The legacy parade also served as inspiration to the elementary students, including many younger siblings who cheered on the seniors from the hallways.

Celebrations also featured a special legacy brunch for the families of the 24 students, celebrating their active partnership in their child’s academic outcomes. Families are critical to the Mastery experience, and a deep partnership between home and school helps students thrive.

Mastery’s approach to high school focuses on empowering students to actively design their own futures by aligning rigorous academic instruction with their unique interests, talents, and goals. This year’s legacy group proved that postsecondary success takes many powerful forms. Supported by their families and the Thomas Campus community, these 13-year legacy scholars are launching directly into the workforce, mastering specialized trades, pursuing two-year degrees, and arriving on the campuses of top four-year institutions.
