Education in Camden is on the rise and because of that, Camden Education Fund has decided to start a Leadership Cohort to continue the advancement of education in the city.

Some of Camden’s principals in the first group, such as George Farmer, Jessie McDonald and Danielle Montague say they always wanted to work in education. Other principals like Bridgit Cusato-Rosa and Yvanna Saint-Fort said they considered other career paths, but nonetheless have found education rewarding.

While the paths that these five educational leaders took to become a school principal may be different, there is one thing about all of them that is the same: They were all selected to take part in the  inaugural fellows of the Camden Education Fund’s City Invincible School Leaders (CISL) Fellowship.

Camden Education Fund CEO Giana Campbell said the five principals were selected because they are among the highest performing leaders citywide, and their peers and school communities spoke highly about their incredible leadership.

“We really wanted to be intentional about how we designed the cohort so that they could build a community with leaders from across the entire city,” she said.
