College Together is expanding postsecondary possibilities for Mastery students
Mastery Schools’ partnership with College Together provides seniors with a unique dual-enrollment experience and a head start on their postsecondary journey. The program, in collaboration with Southern New Hampshire University, provides students with mentors and tutoring services to help them complete the curriculum for their high school diploma while earning an associate degree.
The program’s flexibility accommodates a wide range of student schedules, allowing them to balance their academics, extracurriculars, and employment at their own pace. Seniyah Barnaby, a 12th-grade student at the Pickett campus, cites the program’s flexibility as a highlight. “I like the freedom of being a college and high school student at the same time. If I work hard, I will earn both my high school diploma and an associate degree.”
Dontae Henson, a 12th-grade student at Simon Gratz High School, says the program appealed to him because he is an independent worker and appreciates the strategic freedom it offers. While some students are unsure of their postsecondary plans, College Together plays a vital role in helping Mastery fulfill its mission of providing students with the academic and personal skills they need to be truly prepared for postsecondary success and to pursue their dreams.
