Turn your passion into a career
At Mastery Schools, we empower students to turn their passions into careers through our dynamic Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Simon Gratz High School. Whether you’re interested in shaping the future of media in our Communications Technology program, making a difference in healthcare through Healthcare Technology, or exploring the art of food and hospitality in our Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts program, our CTE pathways offer hands-on, industry-aligned education that sets you up for success.
Explore the possibilities, gain real-world experience, and graduate with the skills and certifications needed to excel in the career you choose.
Why CTE?
Students in our CTE programs don’t just learn—they earn. Alongside classroom instruction, students gain valuable experience in professional environments through internships, job shadowing, and projects that mirror real-world challenges. Our partnerships with industry leaders ensure that you are learning the skills that today’s employers demand.
- Students can discover new interests, cultivate gifts and talents, and find a career they love with hands-on training.
- Many of the fastest-growing jobs are in CTE fields like health care and IT.
Earn industry-recognized certifications: As you progress through the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to earn certifications in your field, giving you a competitive edge as you enter the workforce or continue your education. At Mastery, we believe in not just preparing students for graduation but for a lifetime of career success.
Through strong partnerships with leading local employers such as Temple Hospital, Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Careers Through Culinary Arts Program, and other community businesses, our students gain valuable real-world experience that prepares them for successful careers. These partnerships offer students unique opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and mentorships, ensuring they graduate ready to thrive in their chosen fields.
By collaborating with industry leaders, we ensure that our students not only learn in the classroom but also apply their knowledge in professional settings, giving them a competitive edge in the workforce and making a lasting impact on their communities.
The program is three years, starting in 10th grade and running until graduation in 12th grade.
As of now, only students attending Mastery’s Simon Gratz High School are able to enroll in a CTE program. Incoming 10th graders who are interested in gaining more real world experience before graduation are encouraged to apply. Our CTE programs will let you take classes during the day that prepare you for a career in the area you choose- not only will you learn things about that job, you’ll actually get to DO things related to that job.
