Lenfest Campus is a free, public charter school serving 580 students in grades 7-12.

All of our sophomores participate in an internship program to explore different careers. And our upperclassmen can take AP classes and participate in a dual enrollment program to earn college credits while they are still in high school.

Students have access to tons of sports and extracurricular activities including band, football, drama club and coding.

At Lenfest, all students learn and thrive. With love and high expectations, we support them in finding their own paths to success.

We’re a member of the PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) within the District XII Public League. Our middle school teams play in a variety of leagues across the city.

Any student living in Philadelphia is eligible to apply for the lottery at Lenfest Campus, however preference is given to current students at Smedley Elementary. We also give preference to students with siblings currently attending the school.

Christopher Ziemba, Principal

Chris Ziemba has served as the principal of Mastery Charter School Lenfest Campus since 2016. Before coming to Lenfest, he served as a case manager and assistant principal of student supports at Mastery Charter School Pickett Campus. He began his career in education as a special education teacher in the Bronx in 2003 after serving three years in the US Peace Corps (Kingston, Jamaica).

Throughout Mr. Ziemba’s tenure at Lenfest, the school has experienced PSSA gains in Math and Reading. He looks forward to leveraging the school’s vision to further support academic gains.

Chris has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Vermont and a master’s in Teaching & Curriculum from Columbia University – Teacher’s College. In 2010, Chris earned his Principal certification through the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education.
